Edinburgh Green and Blue started as they mean to go on, getting truly binned on Friday. The famous Grouse Ceilidh was taken more seriously than the team racing, and a lit time was had by all.

The teams were greeted by hangover curing conditions on Saturday, with the breeze howling through Bardowie Loch.

Edinburgh Blue smashed all 5 of their races on Saturday winning all 5, despite the challenging conditions. Worth special mention was the Captains stunning mark 3 trap, in which he caused the two opposition boats to capsize, while Lames Jogan and the Fresher sailed into a comfortable 1,2,3.

Edinburgh Green, also dominated in their two races on Saturday winning both and setting up an exciting Sunday.

On Saturday evening, having just about recovered from the night before, the teams dressed up as Phobias. Edinburgh Blue dressed up as clowns, which was truly terrifying and attractive at the same time; with Lames looking particularly sexy in his pair of booty hugging white leggings. Edinburgh White were clearly up for some action at viper, dressing provocatively in fishnets – Brendan wore them best it must be said, woof !!

Sunday dawned and any prospects of racing looked dim. The breeze was patchy and light, however, the quality race team from Glasgow managed somehow to complete the round robin. Edinburgh Green again performed excellently, winning their remaining 3 races in gold league. Edinburgh Blue took advantage of an empty schedule on Sunday, to make a well-earned trip to Maccies; which for many was the highlight of the weekend.23000401_1901281726563583_4672941211560888635_o

By winning their respective leagues both teams made the quarter finals, which, due to the lack of wind, were raced in a best of 1 format. Edinburgh Blue raced Edinburgh Import in a close fought battle, unfortunately the opposition won with a 1,3,6, just clinching the race on the final beat. Edinburgh White were also beaten by Strath in their Semi – losing 3,4,6; despite some quality team racing calls coming from Brendan.

A great weekend was had by all and despite failing to win their quarter finals both teams learnt huge amounts in their first event of the season. We now move on to SS1 this weekend.
