Memberships

You don’t need a membership to come to our tasters and Welcome Week socials in September – come and try sailing for free! Following Welcome Week, memberships can be purchased on the Edinburgh University Sports Union website.

Social Membership

£20 (or £15 for one semester)

For the fun loving people and boat related craziness, includes access to all of our socials, and of course the two highlights of our social calendar: West Coast Cruise in October and Summer Sail Week, a week long trip to the Med in June with other British unis!

Casual Sailing Membership

£65 (or £40 for one semester)

Not just a party animal? We have you covered. This membership includes access to all non-racing club activities at our club sailing sessions every Sunday at Port Edgar Yacht Club. We run beginner sessions with tuition from qualified instructors. Usage of our kit and boats is also included. Perfect whether you’re a complete beginner or looking to brush up your skills without having to commit to teams all year long!

Racing Membership

£105 (or £60 for one semester)

For sailors on yachting or dinghy teams, includes all year round sailing at competitions around Scotland and the UK with subsidised entries and transport, as well as training and socials.

Some other things to know…

You will need a Recreational Sailing or Racing membership to come our trials (this is for insurance purposes). Don’t worry, if you have bought the wrong membership send us an email and we’ll sort it out.

There is also the option to buy a membership for only one semester – this might be of interest for exchange students, but anyone can buy it.

Membership prices for non-Edinburgh University students are as follows:
Racing £115 (£65 for one semester)
Casual £75 full year (£45 for one semester)
Bear in mind non-students might not be able to take part in all racing activities because of BUCS regulations, drop us an email for more information!
